Due to popular demand we have added an Instagram share button to the SMS landing page. This is the page sent out to players via SMS after each game. The button makes it easier for your players to share their photo on Instagram.

Unfortunately the button can not directly launch the Instagram app, so instead we download the photo to the user's device then give them instructions to open the Instagram app and share it from there.

We have also added a "Download" button to allow player's to just save the photo to their device. While this was possible before by holding your finger down on the photo many player's did not know how to do this, the explicit Download button makes it easy for anyone to download their photo.

A popular feature of Buzzshot is the ability to use custom overlays and frames for your photos. Up until now it's been up to you to create your overlays (although we're always happy to help). To make things easier we've started creating photo overlay presets which are free to use for any Buzzshot customer!

Available today we have "Biohazard", "Poleroid", "Sci-Fi", "Slasher" and "Wanted Poster" presets, but more are coming. Let us know what we should make next!

To try out a preset with one of your rooms to Settings -> Change Rooms and click the dropdown under "Photo Overlay:" and select "Create New", you can then select from the available presets.

Would you like to display an automatically updating Leader Board on your website or even on a screen in your lobby? You can now create a Leader Board widget using Buzzshot. You can specify fonts, colors, background image and even your own custom CSS. If you're having trouble getting the leaderboard to look as you'd like it to then get in touch and we'll be happy to help!

Create a new Leader Board by going to Settings -> Website/TV Widgets.

More widgets, such as galleries and slideshows, are coming. Let us know what you'd like to see!

It’s good to keep an eye on your reviews on TripAdvisor, Google, Yelp and Facebook. But until now you’d have to visit each of those sites each time you wanted to check. Buzzshot will now pull in reviews from all those sites and show you them in one place. Reviews will show up on the Timeline as well as in the dedicated Reviews page.

Right now we’ll bring in reviews from TripAdvisor, Google, Yelp and Facebook if you have them setup in the Integrations settings page. Adding a site will may also add a link on your emails and SMS page, let us know if that’s not what you want by emailing support@buzzshot.co

If you add a new one it may take up to an hour for the data to import. We update reviews on TripAdvisor multiple times a day and we update the others once per day.

We’ll be publishing a new version of the app to the App Store and the Play Store next week. This has a bunch of little tweaks and improvements as well as a lot more options for customization. You can now edit the SMS Buzzshot sends and the contents of the landing page linked to from it. Previously this required emailing Buzzshot support. To see your current settings and maybe change them please go to Settings then click on “SMS Message”.

When we post your photos to Facebook we include a caption. That’s always been customizable (the default is usually something like “Book your escape at http://acmeescape.com”) but as of today we can set you up to customise it for each team as well. We can add an extra field when you complete a team (next to “Did they win?” etc) where you can enter some custom text. Use it to congratulate a team on their unique method of escape or to wish a player a happy birthday! And if you leave it blank we’ll still use the default text just as before.

To use this feature we have to enable it for your account. Let us know at support@buzzshot.co if you want it!

A new beta (testing) version of the Buzzshot app is available. This release is mostly bug fixes and small improvements. Some of the fixes and changes are:

• Removes the limit of 10 minors per adult (if using “I am signing for minors” option)
• Save button when Kiosk mode is now more obvious so players can find it more easily
• If using the timeslot field it will now show upcoming timeslots at the top to make them quicker to find
• Improvements to photo uploads. Uploads should now work in the background even when you close the Buzzshot app. It will handle choppy internet connections far better.
• Confirmation screen when selecting photos from the list. Shows the photo full size so you can be sure you’ve got the right one.
• It is now possible to translate the labels in the minors and signature windows
• Formatting for the content in the New Team screen now works much better. Bold, italics and newlines will be displayed correctly where they wouldn’t have before.

If you are using the Bookeo integration and a booking is cancelled we previously did not do anything. Now if a booking is cancelled we remove it from Buzzshot (unless you already completed it in which case we leave it alone).

We’re constantly working to make Buzzshot better. A little tweak to the user interface here, an extra feature there. When we add something big we’ll usually send out an email or maybe even write a blog post, but for the smaller day to day improvements we didn’t have a good way of letting you know, until now!
