Over the past week we've released an update to the Buzzshot app for both iOS and Android. You can upgrade by going to the App Store (iOS) or the Play Store (Android) or if you have auto-updates turned on you may already have it. This is a fairly minor update to keep compatability with future devices and our upcoming features. It does also add the long requested Pinch to Zoom feature to the camera!

We've been working on some updates to the data table pages of the Buzzshot admin. The Group and Player pages have received a good overhaul making them more functional and nicer to use. 

Currently these changes are opt in, so if you want to try them please click the "New Features" banner in the bottom left of the page and toggle on the "New look tables" feature. If you like the changes then you can keep them and if you don't then you can just toggle them back off (but we'd appreciated if you could email support@buzzshot.co and tell us what you didn't like!).

The COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic is effecting a lot of Escape Room businesses. Some have completely closed until further notice. Others are suffering lower booking numbers and higher rates of cancellation.

The Buzzshot team wish to support you.

If your business has had to shut down temporarily do let us know and we can suspend/pause your subscription for a period (either for a month now or later on once you have an understanding of your developing situation). Just tell us exactly what would help you.

If you are not shut down but are expecting lower numbers of players then let us know. You could switch yourself to a lower plan, or we could give a temporary discount. Just talk to us.

Don’t worry if you don’t know right now, this offer will remain open as long as needed.

We’ll be publishing a new version of the app to the App Store and the Play Store next week. This has a bunch of little tweaks and improvements as well as a lot more options for customization. When we post your photos to Facebook we include a caption. That’s always been customizable (the default is usually something like “Book your escape at http://acmeescape.com”) but as of today we can set you up to customise it for each team as well. We can add an extra field when you complete a team (next to “Did they win?” etc) where you can enter some custom text. Use it to congratulate a team on their unique method of escape or to wish a player a happy birthday! And if you leave it blank we’ll still use the default text just as before.

To use this feature we have to enable it for your account. Let us know at support@buzzshot.co if you want it!

A new beta (testing) version of the Buzzshot app is available. This release is mostly bug fixes and small improvements. Some of the fixes and changes are:

• Removes the limit of 10 minors per adult (if using “I am signing for minors” option)
• Save button when Kiosk mode is now more obvious so players can find it more easily
• If using the timeslot field it will now show upcoming timeslots at the top to make them quicker to find
• Improvements to photo uploads. Uploads should now work in the background even when you close the Buzzshot app. It will handle choppy internet connections far better.
• Confirmation screen when selecting photos from the list. Shows the photo full size so you can be sure you’ve got the right one.
• It is now possible to translate the labels in the minors and signature windows
• Formatting for the content in the New Team screen now works much better. Bold, italics and newlines will be displayed correctly where they wouldn’t have before.

If you are using the Bookeo integration and a booking is cancelled we previously did not do anything. Now if a booking is cancelled we remove it from Buzzshot (unless you already completed it in which case we leave it alone).

We’re constantly working to make Buzzshot better. A little tweak to the user interface here, an extra feature there. When we add something big we’ll usually send out an email or maybe even write a blog post, but for the smaller day to day improvements we didn’t have a good way of letting you know, until now!
